Jaycee Dugard is an American author and kidnapping survivor, who was abducted at the age of 11 in 1991, and held captive for 18 years by Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy Garrido. During her captivity, Dugard was repeatedly raped and gave birth to two daughters fathered by Garrido. She was rescued in 2009 when Phillip Garrido brought her and her two daughters to a parole officer, who became suspicious and contacted authorities. Dugard's abduction and subsequent rescue received widespread media coverage, and she has since written two books about her experiences, "A Stolen Life" and "Freedom: My Book of Firsts". Dugard now lives with her family in northern California and runs the JAYC Foundation, which supports families dealing with abduction and trauma.
